Glass or ceramic? What a Tallinn business chose when it came back for a second 670 W panel
Share
The best product review is a second order. In January 2026 a Tallinn company that installs and sells electrical equipment wrote to us with one line: "Now I need one more white horizontal glass heater. Is it available?" It was; he picked it up from our office at Peterburi tee the same evening. A month earlier another Estonian company had asked for an invoice for the same model, the Premium Infrared Glass Heater 670 W in white. This article is about why that particular panel keeps getting reordered by business customers, and what to check before you choose glass over ceramic.
The customer's problem
Business premises in Estonia, a showroom, a workshop office, a reception, often have one cold wall under a large window and no wish to see a radiator there. The panel has to heat, look like part of the wall, mount horizontally or vertically depending on the space, and be controllable by someone who is not always on site.
What we did
Nothing dramatic, which is the point: confirmed availability within ten minutes, agreed a pick-up window, and handed over the panel with the mounting drawing. For the earlier B2B request we issued an invoice to the company (payment by bank transfer, as most Estonian businesses prefer) and shipped. Repeat orders from installers are the signal we watch most closely, because installers see how a product behaves on the wall for years.
Benefit for the customer
A 1000 × 365 mm, 4 mm tempered-glass panel that disappears into a white wall, heats a room of roughly 12–15 m² at 670 W, has a built-in Wi-Fi thermostat for remote control and scheduling, and comes with a 5-year warranty from a manufacturer 15 minutes away. For a business that means one supplier, one app for all panels, and spare parts and advice in Tallinn.
Technology used
Premium Infrared Glass Heater 670 W (white or black): 4 mm clear tempered glass, 1000 × 365 mm, machine-polished edges with corner radius up to R7, specified for a heating element up to 200 °C; the heating element's conductive tracks are laid at high density so the surface heats evenly without local overheating, which keeps thermal stress in the glass low. Horizontal or vertical mounting with the same bracket drawing rotated 90°. Hybrid infrared-plus-convection output: the glass radiates, the gap behind it convects. Wi-Fi thermostat, GPO Home app, compatible with the BLE room sensor and the Smart Plug's price logic.
Improvements and know-how
Glass panels are the product we have iterated the longest: the current 1000 × 365 mm format with polished edges and R7 corners was specified in 2023 after the first samples, and the element layout was changed to the dense-track design to remove hot spots. We also test them on camera by dropping objects on them (watch the video), because the first question from every installer is "what if someone hits it?".
For the choice itself, our short rule: glass where the panel is visible and the room needs fast response (it heats faster than 8 mm ceramic, also cools faster); ceramic where people will touch it and the budget matters; metal convectors for under-window workhorses in rooms nobody photographs.
What's next
B2B accounts in Estonia and Latvia get invoice payment, office pick-up and volume pricing; we are preparing an installer page with mounting drawings, wattage tables and a one-form invoice request. Towel-dryer versions of the same glass panel (two or three stainless rails) are the next product most installers add; see the Vilnius retailer test and the Poznań distributor case.
FAQ
Can the 670 W glass panel be mounted horizontally? Yes, white and black, horizontal or vertical, using the same bracket drawing rotated by 90°.
Is glass fragile? It is 4 mm tempered glass; we test it on camera. Treat it like a glass tabletop: fine in daily use, do not hit the edge with a hard object.
Can a company get an invoice and pick up in Tallinn? Yes. Write to shop@gpo-tech.com with company details; pick-up at Peterburi tee 38/9, 3rd floor.
